The DBA team within Technical Support provides support services to a number of major public and private sector clients across Northern Ireland the rest of the UK. The services include design, development, implementation and support across a wide range of technologies. The role is largely office based and candidates will be expected to deliver operational managed services.
Candidates must have proven broad technical support experience in the support of database solutions and proven commercial experience in the following:
RDBMS Admin (Oracle9i/10g or SQL Server 2000/2005)
Database Backup and Recovery Technologies
SQL
Skills in any of the following are highly advantageous:
Database Admin in High Availability Env. (Clusters, Logshipping, Standby)
Database Performance Tuning
Database System Monitoring Tools
Database Replication
DBA Professional Certification
RDBMS Admin (Oracle7/8 or SQL Server 6.5/7)
Scripting (T-SQL, PL/SQL, UNIX shell, VBS)
DR/Contingency Methodologies
Service Delivery within an ITIL Framework
Incident/Problem/Change Management
Operating System Experience (Windows or UNIX)
Data Warehousing
Oracle eBusiness Suite.
Candidates must be highly motivated with excellent interpersonal skills
